Yes! Basically, anyone can fly with us, there are a few restrictions that make indoor skydiving not possible with us:

• The minimum age is 6 years, there is no maximum age.
• At a body weight of over 120kg.
• After consuming alcohol or using narcotics.
• When you have ever had a shoulder dislocated.
• When you are pregnant.
• With heart problems, unless it is in agreement with your (GP) doctor.

In case of neck, back and shoulder problems, we advise you to report this to your instructor.

Contact lenses and glasses: Everyone receives a pair of goggles that fits over your glasses. If you have contact lenses, please inform your instructor. Then you will be given special glasses for lenses.”

The total experience for the recreational flyer is about 2 hours. This includes the process from check-in, instruction, to flying and receiving the flight certificate afterwards.

Each flight lasts 1 minute, which is equivalent to a tandem parachute jump from 4km (13,000ft). From this altitude, the free fall time is 60 seconds. However, most standard tandems in the Netherlands jump from 9,000ft and then your freefall time is about 30 seconds.

So if you booked a package with 4 flights, you fly 4 times 60 seconds. In between, other people fly.”

No cameras or phones are allowed with you during the flight and in the antechamber, the waiting area just next to the tunnel, due to safety reasons. Videos will be taken of you while flying. These will be offered by email for €10 and can be shared directly on social media.

Comfortable clothing, for example sports trousers and t-shirt. Preferably no outerwear with a collar.

In terms of shoes, please wear closed shoes with laces and soft soles, preferably trainers or sports shoes. Sandals, flip-flops and open shoes are not allowed.

We provide all guests with a suitable flightsuit, helmet, goggles and earplugs. If necessary, sports shoes can be borrowed from size 31 to size 47.

People with long hair, we recommend braiding it.”

Both disciplines are similar when it comes to flying with your body. Other than that, there are no similarities.

The difference is that in indoor skydiving, the flight is made in a vertical wind tunnel. Where powerful turbines create the “lift”. In outdoor skydiving, this is created by the fall from the plane. Where after about 35 seconds, the free fall is inhibited by the parachute.

In indoor skydiving, you have the opportunity to fly for minutes in the tunnel. This controlled environment has other advantages; you can do it without being certified, you are not dependent on the weather and also the costs are significantly lower than outdoor skydiving.

City Skydive wind tunnels are staffed by certified tunnel instructors. At all times, the presence of an instructor is mandatory. As an experienced flyer, you get more freedom, but there will also always be an instructor in the door for safety.

City Skydive participates in the recognised Tunnelinstructor.org training programme and meets the highest mandatory periodic inspection requirements. The tunnels are also checked daily for proper operation.

As a recreational flyer, you stay within easy reach of our instructor. Or rather, the first few metres of our 23-metre tunnels. This ensures your safety and makes it easy to communicate with your instructor. As an experienced sports pilot, you are allowed to use the entire flying room.”

Absolutely, cozy right! City Skydive’s building is designed with lots of glass so visitors have a pleasant viewing experience both from the flight floor and on the terrace “the red wing” .
